Hubby and I took Fritzy to visit Santa at PetSmart over the weekend. Doesn't he look just thrilled? Believe it or not, he was a good little boy who spent his time sniffing kittens in their cages, Santa, and a little girl doggie who was waiting in line to have her photos taken - while wearing a Christmas onesie. They bonded.

Good morning, everyone, and Happy Friday! Isn't it always a wonderful feeling to be done with the work week and feel excitement over which project you're going to start up/work on/finish up/leave to die over the weekend?
I'm proud to say that I finished this little (huge) guy up last weekend. I've been working on him for two years. Yes, you read that correctly: two years. It just seemed like one thing after another kept getting in the way.

Behold my weekend's worth of work! Okay, okay - Hubby helped out, too, by bringing everything up from the basement. But the beautiful decorations are all me :) Martha Stewart, eat your heart out!
(Speaking of, did you know that Hulu Plus has a bunch of Martha Stewart Christmas specials available? I'm not going to lie; I indulged in a few of them over the weekend in between decking the halls and crafting).
And as I write this, I'm taking a break from knitting up some custom orders just in time for Christmas before starting on some gifts of my own. If you're a friend of mine on Facebook, you've probably already seen some of my crafts. But if not, I'll be posting them as I get pictures taken throughout the month - only the ones I can, of course. I don't want to spoil any surprises!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Tonight, I'll be setting in with the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, followed by some Saturday Night Live holiday classics. Thank goodness for the holidays!
Finished: Custom Blue Knit Headband & Flower
Happy Thanksgiving Eve, friends and followers! I'm popping in today to share with you another one of my knitted headbands that I completed and shipped out earlier this week.

Happy Thanksgiving Week, everyone! As our thoughts turn toward carving turkeys covered in delicious gravy (and mixing everything else on our plates with mashed potatoes because - I mean - why not?), it's time to reflect on what we're thankful for once again.
One of the things I'm grateful for this year is the wonderful online yarn communities I've become involved with. I was lucky enough to find an outlet through blogging five years ago, and it's taken me on a usually fun, sometimes brutal, but always interesting ride. I've been able to interact with people in the industry that I admire, and I can only hope that trend will continue.
In the meantime, the community my blog is involved with has somehow managed to get me nominated as a Top 25 Knitting Blog for 2013. I'm flattered and excited:
I wanted to let you know a) for selfish reasons - I'll admit that I'd love if more people could vote for me using the app above, but also because b) there are some great fellow artists on this list, some of whom I haven't heard of before. Make sure to visit their websites and this year - be thankful that there are such welcoming knit and crochet communities online that help us grow as artists or hobby-ists.
I'd like to post again before the holiday, but in case I don't, I'll take this time to wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving with your friends and families. Enjoy the ride :)
