Hubby and I took Fritzy to visit Santa at PetSmart over the weekend. Doesn't he look just thrilled? Believe it or not, he was a good little boy who spent his time sniffing kittens in their cages, Santa, and a little girl doggie who was waiting in line to have her photos taken - while wearing a Christmas onesie. They bonded.
It was a great promo that's running almost every weekend until the end of the year, so make sure to check it out. You bring your own camera and make a $5 donation (which varies depending on the store). If you then continue to post the photo on Instagram with the appropriate tags, PetSmart donates an additional $10. So if you're an animal lover who's wavering on the brink of, "But I don't want to look crazy", just do it and consider it a charity thing - even though we all know it's cute no matter what.
Needless to say, I've ordered my Christmas cards that should be sent out sometime next week. Crossing my fingers that they get here in time for the holiday!
My other weekend plans included lots of crocheting (the orders were flying in on Saturday) and starting to paint 12 snowmen ornaments to give out with everyone's gifts this year. Look for a post about those later on :)
PS: I also watched my DVR recording of The Sound of Music Live. And you know what? It wasn't that bad. Carrie Underwood sang pretty well, though her acting was kind of weak. And let's not forget that this was the stage - not movie - version, so it seems cruel to try and compare anyone to Julie Andrews. I feel like the cast in general is getting a bad rap for the project, but it could have been worse: I read an article stating that Anne Hathaway was up for the leading role. Believe me, I'd have chosen Ms. Underwood's genuineness over that any day.
