In Progress: Granny Classic Afghan

image.jpg

A friend of mine owns a local marketing agency and recently bought a couch for his office. This, of course, led to a discussion of how it should be decorated - because that's the type of thing marketing people discuss.

I casually mentioned said couch was deserving of a granny afghan that coordinated with his office's color scheme. And thus, the Afghan of Doom was born.

I'm using the Granny Classic Afghan pattern from the Red Heart website and Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" in a variety of high-contrast colors. I've now reached the end of the fourth row, which means there's only one row left before the arduous task that is weaving in ends. Really not looking forward to that.

But despite the fact I'll want to hang myself with the scraps, I love this blanket and may not want to part with it. Sadistically, I'm thinking about making another in a girlier palette, although I don't think that'll happen any time soon. While granny blankets are perfect potato chip knitting while binging on Hulu series, they're also a bit mind numbing and I'd like to move on to bigger and better things now. Wish me luck!

In the meantime, I'm:
