Happy Friday! Are you all glad that it's the end of the week? I know I am. I got a massive headache yesterday that's rendered me nearly immobile ever since. I'm not even sure how I'm writing in something that resembles English right now; I think half my work emails yesterday were barely coherent.
Despite that, I wanted to pop in and show you one my new favorite items to make - and hopefully a soon-to-be-popular item in my etsy shop.
These pigtail hats are all the rage right now; everyone from kids to adults is picking them up, and it was a hit at the craft show I attended last weekend. How could it not be? It resembles a Cabbage Patch hairstyle, so it's only natural that I would be drawn to crafting something that resembles the favorite doll of my youth. And I mean my really young youth, not the more mature youth that was into Barbie and Polly Pockets (a stage I still haven't grown out of, to be honest).
I didn't use a pattern for this hat, but there are plenty of similar styles that exist around the web. I've gathered some of my favorites here so you can try making one of your own:
- Toddler Pigtail Hat
- Curly Q's Pigtails
- Pigtail Beanie (0-6 months)
- Cabbage Patch Kid Inspired Hat Crochet Pattern
This post is pretty timely with Halloween coming up in less than a week, wouldn't you agree? If you're a crafter looking for a costume - child or adult - then these oughtta give you a quick DIY fix.
I hope all have a great weekend and maybe try whipping up a pigtail hat for your favorite cutie. If you do, make sure to post photos in the comments below or on my Facebook page.
As for me? I've got a ladies' weekend coming up - by myself. Believe it or not, I'm looking forward to it. My parents are visiting tonight for dinner, then I'm visiting a craft show on Saturday to maybe knock out some more Christmas gifts for family and friends. The rest of the time will be spent painting, knitting, crocheting (a brown pigtail beanie for a customer order, no less), or reading. It looks like I didn't put cleaning on that list - oops!
Then next week will be busy as I pack and prepare for a conference in Vegas. Oy.
